Client Accountant – Accounts

Location: Port Solent

Salary: £20 -25k per annum (subject to experience)

Qualification requirement: None required

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (8.30am – 5pm)

Experience: Previously worked in a fast paced professional environment, predominantly using the telephone

You will be part of an exciting brand specialising in Accounting and Tax solutions for Personal Service Companies and owner managed SMEs. The company is an online accountancy practice, which prides itself in forward thinking ideas and superior customer service.

We have a niche APP which provides an online portal to record business information, and we offer Payment Advice, Accounting, VAT, Payroll, Company Secretarial and Tax advice to clients, as well as preparation of the statutory filing requirements.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Introduction of new clients to the business and Boox accounting app, including the training of clients to use the software
• Checking and reconciliation of client information within the Boox app, including adjustment requirements on the app
• Chase clients for queries on their accounts, both by email and telephone
• Respond to client emails and telephone queries as allocated
• Preparation of Annual and closure statutory accounts and Tax Returns for approval
• Amendments to accounts and Tax returns as required
• Ensuring there is a clear audit trail of all client and 3rd party communications and documents
• Update internal systems (CRM / Client folders) with client information when provided and work completion
• Update process Documents when required
• Processing and explanation of Pay Breakdown Queries
• Ensure Output targets and tasks are met daily
• Escalate any complaints to Team Leader, and investigate where appropriate, providing an update to Management
• Cover of Junior Client Accountants role when required
• Provide Accounting reference and handover information to the client / 3rd Parties as required
• Adhoc tasks as required

The right person will possess the following criteria:

• Finance Knowledge equivalent to at least Level 4 AAT, with proven experience of application
• Experience of dealing directly with client
• 1+ yrs accounting experience within Practice
• Have superior customer service skills
• Have excellent attention to detail
• Be willing to learn
• Be team orientated
• Have good interpersonal skills
• Demonstrate excellent time management, and organisational skills
• Be innovative and receptive to change
