New invoice developments within the Boox App

We’re delighted to release a number of new enhancements to our invoice creation functionality which will hopefully make your life simpler when it comes to invoicing your customers.

In the next few days we’ll be rolling out these changes, the first of which is a change to the navigation bar of the app.  Here’s a quick sneak peak:

New Boox App Navigation

As you can see, we’ve adopted a whole new look and feel, with a more web friendly drop down menu system.  All labels remain the same as the previous menu, so there’s no confusion which where you want to navigate to.

Creating a new invoice

This is where we’ve made the most changes – largely to improve your experience of using the portal with the aim of making the process of adding or modifying your invoice much easier.

At the very top of the invoice, you have new features which allow you to:

  • Add a new customer directly from the invoice
  • Automatic population of your invoice number based on your customer pre-sets
  • Ability to add a Client’s Purchase Order Number
  • Ability to select normal or zero rated VAT
  • Ability to override your standard Payment Terms

Other new features

  • Choose your method of adding values to your invoice

A new feature of this release enables you to choose how to apportion the values associated with each line of your invoice.  You now have the option to create invoice amounts as either a quantity & rate, or simply as a single amount.

  • Simpler Discount / Adjustments

In our last development release in May, we created the new function of adding discount lines to your invoice.  We’ve now simplified this process, and all you need to do to add a discount is to insert the value as a minus figure, which is then deducted from your invoice total.

How to create a new invoice

Hopefully the changes we’ve made are simple enough to follow when you come to using the app after the enhancements are rolled out.  We have however created a brief video tutorial if you are uncertain on how to create a new invoice which you can see below.
