The Boox Report creates a buzz at the Business Show 2012

Business Start Up Show

Boox’s first ever fortray into events took place at The Business Startup Show last week.  This was a fantastic opportunity to interact with potential clients and showcase our online accounting software. It was refreshing to gain instant face to face feedback on our service, which gained impressive reviews from the people we spoke to on the stand.

Freelancers, Contractors, Limited Company Directors and aspiring Entrepreneurs were astounded at how efficient and easy to use our online accounting service is. The ability to manage their accounts in one place, in real time, was a clear benefit for those self-employed whose busy work life allows little time to allocate to their business accounting.  The added benefit of having a personal accountant to help with any queries was a key USP for us compared to the majority of accounting software providers who were also present at the show.

It was interesting to see how the £79 +VAT for the Online Accounting Service was perceived as a great value for money once the full benefits were outlined.

Our 14 day free trial is a useful way to get a feel for the online aspect of our service, and enables users to see how it can save time and keep your business accounts in order.

Our Self-Assessment service also caught the eye and was one of the areas in which freelancers will look into after the show, in order to avoid the stress of filing their Self-Assessment tax return.

The show also provided us with the opportunity to highlight some of the many findings from The Boox Report, which was launched earlier in the week, one being:

One in five freelancers usually miss the January tax filing deadline and receive a fine.…

Over 300 copies of The Boox Report were distributed at the stand and will give a valuable insight into the UK self-employed workforce.

Boox Managing Director, Phillip Venn, presented a seminar at the show to highlight the key findings from The Boox Report. Philip Venn took an in-depth look at life as a contractor and discusses topics such as work/life balance, annual leave, working hours and the reasons for becoming a contractor. The seminar also focused on how contractors can keep on top of their bookkeeping and manage their business more efficiently. In case you missed out, you can view the presentation below.
