Updated browser compatibility

What’s changing?

Following Microsoft’s recent removal of support for Internet Explorer versions earlier then version 11 on the majority of platforms, our next update of the Boox web app in March will be the last version that is specifically tested against Internet Explorer browser versions 8, 9 & 10 before release. Microsoft is encouraging all users to update to Internet Explorer 11 or to use its latest browser – Microsoft Edge – so that they can benefit from improved security, increased performance and better compatibility.

The Boox web app works best on the following platforms:

  • Google Chrome (current version)
  • Mozilla Firefox (current version)
  • Apple Safari (current version)
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer version 11

What does this mean for you?

If you continue to use IE8, 9 or 10 browsers after the March release, some features or functionality may no longer work in these browsers when we release further updates. Bugs or performance issues that appear only when using these browsers will not be investigated or fixed by Boox going forwards so you will need to move to another platform.

Do remember that if you are unable to upgrade your browser, the Boox web app works beautifully on mobile devices, so you can still access it through your phone or tablet. We do also have a mobile app specifically designed for the most common day to day tasks available in the app stores.

If you have any questions about these changes, get in touch now or get in touch with your client accountant.
